I got so excited when I saw this! King Arthur Flour has made digital backgrounds that will work in Zoom, Slack, Teams & GoToMeeting! They are so good! If you have a job that requires you to virtually meet using one of these apps and you want to try a fun background, check these out! I have to Zoom with people I don't know so I would rather not have my personal office/craft room in the background so this would be good for something like that and also an icebreaker! I don't know these people and suddenly being face to face can be awkward but a bakery background is sure to lighten things up and start it off with a smile.

Do you Zoom or meet virtually and have backgrounds you've downloaded that are cool? Leave me a comment and share them :)
I thought long and hard about what book to get since it was free and I wanted it to be good. The cat is out of the bag already on what I picked since you have seen the title of this post. I never had to read To Kill a Mockingbird (labeled as TKAM hereafter) in school and from what I understand, that is where most people read it first. I had to read Great Expectations....and I hated it. I was not scholarly - to say the least, so reading was not something I did for enjoyment. You could find me with watercolors and a crappy paint brush or traipsing through the canyon before you found me with my nose in a book. Much to my Dad's dismay I'm sure. This isn't to say I never read a book - I did read The Outsider's and I really loved that. Anyway, I saw so many reviews for <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">TKAM that said it had to be a book you read just based on the fact it's a beloved American classic. Not to mention all the accolades it has been awarded. So I went with it.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">My review on this is in 2 parts.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Part 1:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This is the Audible version of the book narrated by Sissy Spacek. So I <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">obviously did not read the book. I can't recall if I have ever listened to a <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">narrated book before. I want to say I have, but I honestly can't remember. Since I don't have any previous memory of another
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">narrated book to compare this one to, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Sissy did a magnificent job on this. She's from Texas (don't ask me how I know that....I have no idea) but you would think she is from Maycomb, Alabama and maybe she was Scout as a child. Her natural accent is perfect for this <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">narration. She reads each character with a range of tones to her voice that sets each of them apart so you know when <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">characters are changing and it's not confusing at all. It's not a dramatic change in her voice, just a tone. It still sounds like her, just a slightly higher or slightly lower tone to her voice so the <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">characters dialog isn't all running together. She's very easy to listen to and isn't flat or annoying. This made listening to <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">TKAM very enjoyable for me and I believe is 90% of what I did enjoy about the book. Hat's off to <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Sissy Spacek for an amazing job!
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Part 2:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I could not have actually read the book - this I know for sure. I do not like to read books that have a lot of....description. This book is verrrry descriptive. Sissy can talk for a good couple of minutes and it's all description and very little dialog. I've not seen a copy of the book, but I'm guessing that least 50% of the book is description - if not more. Those kind of books cannot hold my interest very long. I don't care if the sky is the color of grandmas blue dress or if the fields of wheat look like golden waves in the wind. That kind of thing makes me crazy. Yes, it sets the scene, but when there is too much of it, I can't. I remember reading a book that was describing wallpaper. No. I put that book down and never picked it back up. There's a lot of detail in this book about the town, the history, the family and I'm not really sure any of it mattered to the story. In the end, I don't think knowing many of the details shared about <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Maycomb were really that important or had any real value to the story. It was a lot of filler. But because <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Sissy is so easy to listen to, I could deal with it and it did not bother me or make me want to skip over anything. Read away in descriptive overabundance, Sissy! I actually think this is why I did not like Great Expectations. I have half a mind to get that audio book next and see if I like it better that way. We'll see. The other thing about <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">TKAM is the age of the story and the content. Of course it deals with some very heavy subject matter. None of which I knew in advance. The reviews I read did not detail the content of the book, but more about the value of it. I think if we all had an Atticus in our lives when we were young (and older) to advise us on moral and social injustices, we would be much better people. Harper Lee was truly a wise woman. I see why this the book received the <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">accolades and why it's an American classic. I'm glad I picked it. And I do agree, everyone should either read or listen to <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">TKAM. I might suggest listening over reading just to be able to enjoy <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">hearing Sissy Spacek read to you.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Have you read <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">TKAM? Leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts.
In the past it might be hard to find a particular brand or something, but to find next to nothing you need....very strange times.

The other night I was standing in the kitchen and had made chicken legs (that were in frozen) and I had some brown rice. No fresh or frozen veggies. I used our favorite Peri Peri sauce on the chicken but the brown rice needed work. I went to my old standby....Everything But The Bagel seasoning. It was so good! So I thought about the other ways I use this stuff. It will be known as EBTBS just to save me from having to type suck a long name. Here are 3 "recipes" using EBTBS.

EBTBS Brown Rice - Lockdown version

1 cup brown rice
2 cups stock or water with bouillon cube or just water
EBTBS to taste
Tsp butter

Cook rice according to package. It's better if you can make it with stock or bouillon but of course water is fine if that's all you have. Plate up the rice and add some butter and sprinkle with the EBTBS and mix it in.
Enjoy!

EBTBS Avocado Toast - Lockdown version

Bread of choice (whatever you can find)
Avocado
Tomato (if you can find...I could not find any)
EBTBS

Toast the bread. Slice the tomato. Mash the avocado. Spread the avocado on the toast and sprinkle with EBTBS. Top with sliced tomato and season the tomato as well. Enjoy!

EBTBS Roasted Veggies - Lockdown version

Veggies - whatever you can find!
Oil or non stick spary
EBTBS
1-2 tsp butter

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Chop up the veggies you can find. I got carrots, potatoes, butternut squash, onion and bell peppers. Google roasting time for whatever you find. I had to roast the carrots, potatoes, butternut squash for 15 minutes and then add the onion and bell peppers for the last 15 minutes of the whole cooking period or they would burn. Add some butter and sprinkle with EBTBS and serve! Enjoy!

Leave me a comment and tell me what you have made with limited items.Kittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16164866241731390243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29254504.post-75535608675708453372020-03-18T11:03:00.002-07:002020-03-18T11:06:00.512-07:00We're ALL Working From HomeIf you work and have a job that can be done from your home....that's probably where you are. During this unprecedented event, many people have been forced to work from home who normally do not work from home. This sounds like a very cool thing....working from home. And it is. I have been full time telecommuting for the past 2.5 years and only been into the office for about 4 meetings during that entire time. In fact, the entire team I work with works from home. We only have to go into the office for meetings or if we *want* to go in. A few people do go to the office once a week. I remember in the weeks before this started I was thinking this full time telecommuting could have some major drawbacks. I was already telecommuting twice a week and I relied on the days I was in the office to work on the tough technical issues with colleagues because that is 100% better. Well, now we would not have in person contact and I had concerns about this. But we have Skype, telephones and email. It turns out that things have rolled along fine. I'd say 99.9% of my concerns were not an issue. The ones that were, we all dealt with those quickly and it's been a good 2.5 years.

However, the people that are being forced to work from home now have not had time to prepare or make arrangements. This ranges from a work station, how to manage your work in a vastly different location, VPN service and just how to get motivated. I personally do not have a problem with being motivated but a lot of people associate home with downtime and find themselves doing "home" things and not actually working. This is just something people have to work on if they have a problem staying focused. My suggestion is to set an alarm. You have to stay at your work station and work (no phone calls, laundry, cutting the grass) for however long you set the alarm for. When it goes off, get up and take a *short* break and then set another alarm and get back to it. You will find you get into a rhythm and eventually will stop setting the alarm. I would also try not to work in places you associate with doing specific things like watching TV or sleeping....meaning, don't work from your Lazy Boy or in bed. Setup a work station in a location were you can be productive. Also, stick to your normal work hours. If you work 9am - 5pm, then work those hours and don't work 2 hours here and there until you have 8 hours. Doing that is going to be a disaster....trust me. You also have to consider your colleagues. If you are not working, you might be holding someone else up or they may not be able to reach you. And if things are rough at first, just know that things *will* get better. It will just take time. You are not in it alone....even though you are working alone. If that is proving to be a problem and you are feeling lonesome, ask a colleague to Skye with you and work on something you have a question about. The interaction will be good for both of you.

Are you working from home? Leave me a comment and let me know if it's due to the coronavirus or if you have been doing this for awhile. Also leave any tips for people who might be new to it!
I can't remember what season I started watching the show, but it was pretty far in. So I missed some of the most iconic seasons.

I do remember seeing segments of shows but I could barely stand it. I would often think "why is this a 1 hour show?!". I thought this could easily be a 30 minute show. It boggled my mind that people could sit and watch people bicker about the previous person who was 86'ed, do a challenge, panic & clammer, then go 86 someone off the island again. But first, beat around the bush and talk in riddles about who they they are going to 86 off the island. This is followed by half of them smirking and half of them astonished when that someone walks up to Jeff all bewildered and he tells them it's time to go as he snuffs their torch.

This is Survivor in a nutshell.

I don't remember why I started to watch it or why I could actually watch the entire 1 hour show. I do know that in my early days I would usually fast forward (I record nearly everything I watch) through the the middle of the challenges. I would watch the beginning and the end but I didn't care what happened in the middle. I can watch the whole show now....even the challenges. But I'll admit, I might check Twitter or something during the challenges and look up if I hear Jeff calling out some interesting development.

But the show has started to drag for me. It got really repetitive and just was starting to not be very interesting. I didn't care very much for the people who were playing and I would find myself not very invested in seeing the winner. I don't even remember some seasons winners. I could see their name and picture and not know them....because it was just not that interesting. That's not the case with every season, but it has been with a lot of them lately.

However, this season - I'm really enjoying it. I know who most of the people are. I don't remember a few of them but that could be because they are from seasons I did not see or are from one of those "forgettable" seasons. I remember Tony and Sarah. I despised Tony....a lot. He's amusing, but I didn't like him. This season, I don't know why, but he's not bugging me. And the "cops R Us" thing between him and Sarah....I dig it. We'll see if it continues. So funny. Last night's episode Tyson went to Extinction Island. You can kind of see this all happening but the way they edit the show. I'm bummed by some of the people who have been voted off. Ethan was my favorite. The moment when the girls went with him as support to get his last log was very touching. You have to hope the fire tokens they got will be worth all that. I do also like Tyson because he's funny. When he was talking about Sophie being so far under the radar that he could not even remember her name, I had to laugh. And...who is Sophie? I still don't know! Speaking of radar, stay off Sandra's. If you are, your days are numbered. Somehow these fools keep her around!? I don't get it. She does not even have to do challenges! iCaramba. Ok, the challenge...I watched the whole thing. I really did not think Adam was ever going to get that last key. How tired must be have been? I can't even imagine. And the comeback with the puzzle was astounding. It was like they had put it together before and already knew where the pieces went. Truly amazing they won considering the lead the other team had and completely squandered it. But by far the best moment of the show for me was when when Tyson got to Extinction and says "Wow, you have so much firewood" and all you hear is moaning and groaning. That was classic.

Are you watching Survivor? Leave me a comment and tell me what you think of this season.

The Impossible Burger. After I posted my Impossible Burger review we went to a different Burger King and the burger was much better at the 2nd location. So much so better that we have been back 2-3 more times. It's entirely possible (ha!) that the first place I had it at does make them well and I just was there on a bad night. But we just choose to go back to the location we have always had a good experience at. However...I probably will not go back to Burger King unless my options are full up.

Let me explain.

Back in February we went to a place called Del's Hideout. It's a restaurant and we have seen the sign for it many times from the 8 freeway. It was finally the day to try it out. And guess what? They have an Impossible Burger! So I tried it.

O.M.G

When I got the burger, I was thinking the patty looked a lot like a beef patty. However, these burgers tend to look very much like beef burgers. I took a bite and....wow. It was amazing. I started to wonder if they really had mistakenly given me a real beef burger. Greg had a bite and agreed it was super yum and did taste like a beef burger. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars and named it was my favorite Impossible Burger. If it really was an Impossible Burger?! I was still kind of wondering if it was a beef burger by mistake. We went back a few weeks later but unfortunately the parking lot was full and there was no street parking. It was raining so parking way down the street and waiting for a table seemed like a drag. We ventured off to another place called Jimmy's Famous American Tavern. They also had an Impossible Burger which is what I had my heart set on having one for dinner so that's what I got. It was good but nothing like Del's. I gave it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. This is not saying it was terrible or not worth trying. If you go to Jimmy's and want an Impossible Burger, I think you should try it! It's just not on the same level as Del's...which may or may not have been real beef. I still wasn't sure. Then, last weekend, we went back to Del's. It was confirmed. I did not mistakenly get a beef burger the - their Impossible Burger is just so good you think they mistakenly gave you a beef burger! If you are in the San Diego area and want an Impossible Burger, go to Del's. You'll be happy you did. Below is a picture of my Impossible Burger and onion rings (ranch on the side).

Leave me a comment and let me know where you get your favorite burger - Impossible or not!
I've seen reviews of it and they were positive and I've seen the commercials that are convincing. Before I go any further, I have to reveal that I have not eaten at BK in at last 30 years. Some 30 years ago, I had eaten there and I just did not care for the taste of their burger patty. I never went back. Until now. I also have to give a spoiler here, I'm cutting out red meat from my diet in starting 1/1/2020. I hardly ever eat red meat anyway so it won't be a big deal. This is also why I was interested in the Impossible Burger because if I did want a burger, I could have an Impossible Burger. Alright, so to the review. Well, it wasn't like the commercials. Not even a little. I wasn't expecting a burger as beautiful as the ones on the commercials, but this was nothing like those. It wasn't sizzling or flame broiled or even warm. The patty was dry....not at all juicy like the commercials. The cheese was not melted. It has to be hot to melt cheese...or at least a little warm! So either the location where I had my burger had an Impossible Burger sitting around in the back that they made 2 hours earlier and gave me that one, or they do not prepare it like they do the beef burgers, which is the way their videos show it being prepared (flame broiled). I was disappointed. I might try one at a different location. But that's something else. Is Burger King in trouble? There are only 2 BK's in my area which I thought was strange. So if the 2nd location also serves less than stellar Impossible Burger's, I don't have other options. Unless of course, I go to another chain that has burgers with meatless patties. So is it impossible? Is it worth trying? I have to say no based on my experience. I'll post an update if I try another one and have better results.

Leave me a comment and let me know if you have tried the Impossible Burger and how it was. If you have not tried it, let me know what your favorite burger joint is!

I'm a relatively new coffee drinker. I used to hate it. I didn't even like the smell of it. Now I have a cup every morning and I love the smell of it. *shrugs* My preference is to have it sweet (not overly) and with milk or cream. I can't drink it black. I also don't really care for unflavored coffee. My most favorite is Green Mountain's Pumpkin Spice. No other brand really compares. Even Starbucks. In general, Green Mountain makes really good coffee and I have liked most of what I have tried from them. I buy their pumpkin spice coffee when it goes on clearance (mostly from Target) and stockpile it so I can drink it all year long. I also buy their Cinnamon Sugar Cookie and stockpile that for the year. My newest find is Green Mountain Maple Pecan. This is delicious! I might start stockpiling this one as well :)
Leave me a comment and let me know your favorite coffee (or other fall drink) and when you started drinking coffee! Greg and I were on vacation and went to Starbucks early one morning and we saw a boy on a skateboard with a some kind of blended coffee drink. He was around 12 or so! I don't remember what I was drinking when I was 12, but coffee was not involved. A lot has changed. I only got one comment last week so I don't know if anyone is reading this or not <span style="font-family: "helvetica";">☕️
Ok, not really but let's just roll with it. I'm not entirely sure how this is going to go. I didn't have much of a following back when I was active and those few people have almost certainly moved on. If I can manage to get a "following" again, I'll try to keep this going. Help me out and tell everyone you know! Read this awesome blog - it's full of wit, wisdom and fun! Remember, white lies are ok.

Just want to have a festive dinner on All Hallows' Eve and ignore all the cries for candy at the door? I got you covered. She gave the thumbs up to all of these. I watched the video and in my opinion, I would say the skull pizza and deviled eggs look better than the soup for a party. But if you are making dinner and it's a cold night, the soup would be perfect. Of all 3, I think the deviled eggs look the easiest to make and the appearance is going to win a lot of "ewww's" which for Halloween, is the desired reaction! I tried to get the video to post directly here but I wasn't able to so the link to the YouTube video is below.

Hopefully these recipes will inspire you to try something fun on Halloween or to take to a party. I know as we get older we can lose some of the spirit that days like Halloween offer us. I've been guilty of it myself and didn't dress up for work a few times. However, all it takes is a walk around the neighborhood or down the seasonal isle in the drugstore and I quickly feel the Halloween inspiration take hold! Try to let that inner child emerge again and have a skull pizza for dinner or chicken boo-dle soup. Smile as you enjoy your boo-utiful creations and talk about when you were a kid and what you did for Halloween. It's sure to be a fun conversation <span style="font-family: "helvetica";">🎃

I believe they might be called "clam shell containers" because of the way they are hinged. like a clam shell. I cut off the top, clean up the edges, and just use the pan. Below are the instructions in pictures and a supply list of what I used is at the bottom:

You have to make template for where the muffin cups are on your muffin container. The method I used was to hold the muffin container up to the window and lay a sheet of paper over it. This is a light table effect. I marked circles were the muffin cups were.

Now is the time for liquid glue. The one I used is called Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I recommend you buy this and use it at this stage. It is very sticky and dries very fast and securely. Zots are not going to do it here. Glossy Accents probably would be fine but it will take longer to dry. I know this works so this is what I use. Fold back your cord/ribbon so it's out of the way temporarily (see picture). Run a line of glue along the top edge. The amount shown in the picture is WAY TOO MUCH. But that's ok. You can take a scrap of paper or something (not your finger....you do not want to get it on your finger because then you will be getting glue on everything you touch!) and spread it along the edge of the paper and thus removing the excess.

Working somewhat quickly, move the binder clips up to the very edge of
the paper now and press the glued edge down. Make sure the placement of
the cord/ribbon is correct at this point as well. You'll have to hold
the edge of the paper for a minute or so and any spots that don't want
to stay down. This glue is strong enough and sticky enough that it will
hold pretty quickly. Be sure to remove any Tombow glue that oozes out because it dries very tacky and will attract everything little thing and make your project look bad. You can clean off any that oozes out with a napkin while the glue is still wet. It should not leave much residue behind. Once the glue is dry, it's too late! You can try to erase it with an eraser, but it will pick up the color of the eraser and it just ends up being a mess. So remove the ooze while it's wet.

Snoopy Christmas Cookies!

Time to make Christmas cookies! It's probably hard to tell the scale of these cookies from the picture, but they are 8 inches tall but 4 inches wide - huge! I got the cookie cutter on eBay about 2 years ago and I thought it was a "normal" size cookie cutter. I bid on this one because it was so much less than all the others. I won the bid and was so happy! Then the cutter arrived. What the heck!? It was gigantic. I looked back at all the other cutters and they were 4 inches tall. Then read the description of the one I got. No wonder this one was so much cheaper than the others!! Shame on me for not noticing the size in the description. Scale does not photograph unless you have a ruler or something next to it and it didn't say "x-large" so I thought it was just a standard size. Oh well. Finally after 2 years I got over the disappointment of it all and decided to actually make cookies with this cutter. I have to tell you, big cookies are a pain. My mistake of not reading that description was coming back to haunt me again. They are so fragile due to their size. Normal size cookies are much easier to deal with and not as delicate. First, there is no 8 inch spatula in my house so transferring them to the cookie sheet was a challenge. They wanted to break at the scored spots on the dough (see in photo). I had to do some repair work once they were on the cookie sheet. When you take them out of the oven, it's even more challenging because they will break and there's no way to fix them. Again, a massive spatula would have helped. Half of them broke right out of the oven at those score lines. I had to make a second batch. With the second batch, I just lifted the baked cookies off the cookie sheet on the parchment paper and let them cook right on the parchment they were baked on. It was the only way. Then during decorating, I found out you can only hold these puppies (pardon the pun) at the sides of the dog house. If you hold it at the bottom or.....well, any other place, they will break because they just are not strong enough to bear the weight. I think I made 20 of them and 10 survived. Will not be making these again! But, I do like how they turned out. And it was a learning experience. This is what I learned.

1. Read the description of everything on eBay. 10 times. Then read it again.

2. Big freakin' cookies are a nightmare to make. Don't do it.

3. Spatula size matters.

4. Red food color requires a lot of it or it just looks pink.

5. Buy a box of cute cookies at the store so if you want to give up after half the batch breaks, you can :)
My 5 Top Christmas Songs

1. Christmas Vacation - Mavis Staples
It has to be by Mavis. There are other versions, but
none are as good as hers. This is the theme song to
the movie "Christmas Vacation".

2. It Came Upon A Midnight Clear - Anne Murray
I love this song and the way she sings it. The lyrics
get me right in the heart.

3. Christmas Canon
One year I played this song on my laptop on repeat for
about 3 hours....

4. 2000 Miles - The Pretenders
If you have never heard it, you are missing out.
There's a live 1995 version on YouTube you have
to check out. Awesome.

5. Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town - Bruce Springsteen
I'm unable to sing this song in the original style. I have to
sing it like Bruce does. Have to.Kittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16164866241731390243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29254504.post-79158053060356503702015-12-19T06:45:00.003-08:002015-12-19T06:49:51.422-08:00December Daily - Day 19
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial"; font-size: 19px;">

proper placement. Add the trees around being sure to look at it through the
front of the jar to see how it looks. If the hook attachment on top of the camper
ornament is small enough, you can scatter some fake snow on top of it to hide
it. Once you have things arranged the way you want, you can add the micro LED
lights in the snow. Then run them up the inside of the jar behind one of the
trees and out the top. These lights can be unruly but take your time and it
will be worth the effort. Wrap the rest of the strand around the top of the jar
on the outside. Use tape in concealed places to hold the stand of lights in
place. Now add the fake strand of lights at the top inside of the jar affixing
the ends with tape.

there isn't room in your house, consider doing it outside. A garage door would
be perfect. Silly prop ideas would be elf ears, blinking or glittery eyeglasses, santa beard, canes wrapped to look like candy canes, bow ties, mustaches, hats of all kinds, 2 signs with "naughty" and "nice" written on each one.

about themselves. Two are true and one is not. Tell them about this a few hours
before you play so they can be thinking about it. They should not share their
stories with others. With family, this is especially difficult for the truth
stories because family knows each other so well. For truths, give them the idea
to think back to school, work or things that happened when they were alone. For
the lie, tell them to think of things that happened to other people that their
family does not know. Also, the stories do not have to be elaborate. Examples:

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Hi Santa, it's me...the girl who always imagined you had white glitter sprinkled in your beard. Do you remember me? I'm pretty sure I was on the nice list every year. Well, except maybe that year I flung mud into Mrs. Tompson's kitchen window when I was 10. But in my Defense, it wasn't my idea and we didn't know the window was open. Anyway, I'm hoping my years of good behavior since then have made up for that. I'M writing to ask for a special Christmas wish. this year has been challenging in different ways. I understand that if life was easy, it would not make us into strong capable people. I just know that the new year is going to bring more challenges and possibly conflict. I'm asking that you deliver some of that Christmas magic to my house and those around me so that we can get through it just a bit easier. If that's not possible, THEN maybe a few bottles of that Lambrusco wine I like to help me through the rough patches.
